G9 New Baggage Policy

We are introducing a change in the baggage charges applicable for all routes. The new charge will be applicable on all bookings made from today 24th Dec & for flights departing from 1st January 2013.

For flights until 31st December 2012:

  • 20 Kg: AED 10 / passenger / one way
  • 30 Kg: AED 20 / passenger / one way
  • 40 Kg: AED 100 / passenger / one way (subject to availability)

For flights starting from 1st January 2013:

  • 20 Kg: AED 20 / passenger / one way
  • 30 Kg: AED 50 / passenger / one way
  • 40 Kg: AED 150 / passenger / one way (subject to availability)

During the booking process, 20 kg or 30 kg will be selected by default. The passenger can choose between: 20 kg, 30 kg, 40 kg or a No baggage.

If passenger have not pre-booked the baggage (selected “No baggage”) at the airport the first 20 kg will be charged at AED 50 / passenger / one way, any weight above 20 Kg will be considered as excess baggage.

Excess baggage rates will continue to apply on any weight above the pre-booked allowance.

  • Starting 1st July, 2012, Every passenger can pre-book a baggage allowance while doing his reservation through our website, call center, sales shops or partner travel agents, at the discounted rates of:
    • 20 Kg: AED 10 / passenger / one way
    • 30 Kg: AED 20 / passenger / one way
    • 40 Kg: AED 100 / passenger / one way
  • At the airport, if a passenger didn’t pre-book his baggage (selected “No baggage”) the first 20 kg will be charged at AED 50 / passenger / one way, any weight above 20 Kg is considered excess baggage. Excess baggage rates will continue to apply on any weight above the pre-booked allowance.
  • Passengers who booked their tickets before 1st July 2012, will continue to benefit from the free baggage allowance that was offered at the time of booking.
  • Hand baggage allowance per passenger must not exceed 10 kgs with dimensions within 55 x 40 x 20 cms.
  • The maximum weight permitted per individual piece of baggage is 32kgs with total dimensions of 160cms (W+D+L). No single piece of baggage may exceed this allowance.
  • Only one box is permitted as part of free baggage allowance. The box must be the original manufacture's box containing the original item.
  • All items weighing 32kgs or more and with dimensions of 160cms or more can only be sent as cargo. Air Arabia does not offer cargo facilities for outsized baggage.
  • In addition to the above free allowances you may carry the following items as cabin baggage; a coat, a handbag/clutch bag, umbrella, small items of tax free goods and a laptop computer.
  • All personal items and cabin baggage must be securely stowed on board the aircraft either in the overhead locker or under the seat in front of you, if this is not adjacent to an Emergency Exit.
